The primary research focus of the SIP lab is to understand the causes and consequences of accurate interpersonal impressions.  What psychological, social, and biological factors promote how accurately we see and are seen by others? And what are the psychological, social, and biological consequences of accurate impressions?

Dr. Human will be reviewing graduate student applications for the September 2027 intake, in both streams (Psychological Science and Clinical). You are welcome to express your interest via email, but please note that Dr. Human cannot reply to individual emails or individually meet with applicants prior to application materials being formally submitted through UBC’s online application system and passing preliminary checks. If you feel your interests align with the Social Interaction and Perception lab, then please list Dr. Human as a potential supervisor and your application will receive full consideration.
